Live Spaces lives...
So I'm going to try an experiment... Well It's not really an experiment, more of a taste test.
I've been in Florida for the last week or so, and for the life of me I cannot get away from mySpace. Everyone and their kid brother has one, it's almost like an alternate Web. Which doesn't bother me, other than the fact that this alternate Web is owned by Rupert "Fox News" Murdoch. Incredibly scary political leanings aside, any Web service owned by someone who shares the same name as the crazy guy from the A-Team puts me on alert. And YES I actually do think billg IS better that way. He's rich, he's a nerd and he appears to have a conscience. Plus he's my boss. Yes I am stoolie sellout. Get over it.
MySpace is fucking impenetrable for me. I don't know what it is. I remember when i used to be savvy with this "computer" thing, but to try to get mySpace to do my bidding is a sloppy and time-consuming drag. They have the worst tools, terrible design, completely non-intuitive UI and just... god. It sucks. But the fact that every one of my friends has a mySpace, along with most of the bands I love, makes it hard deny it as a viable social network. It's the most visited website in the world for God's sake. But what a pain in the ass.
That said, I am liking this new Live Spaces UI. I think Cinthya and team did a bang up job. Getting to my stuff is easy, and even firing up a blog is simple enough (I almost punched my screen trying to find where to add a new blog entry on mySpace) and who knows maybe I'll get back into the blogging fray. The last time I did this for real was back in 2000, in the dotcommery of SF. High time, I suppose.
So if yer reading this, you should make me your friend. Because I am, and I am a good one.
